Football season

Okay everyone, since the seal has been broken on football trashtalking, I have decided to leap into the fray with no reservations. After spending the last few hours perusing the sports news and talking to my contacts, I have arrived at two main conclusions.
1) Florida State is going to tank this year - This may come as a surprise to some of you because I have generally always been a booster and optimist, even when times were tough. That being generally true, it is hard to be optimistic when players are folding before the season even starts on a combination of academic failure and criminal behavior. Now, neither of those are exactly NEW at Florida State, but when you combine them with the relatively new problem of quarterbacks going insane (I have this one on good word from a mental health nurse in Tallahassee), it doesn't look good. Say what you want about Chris Rix, he never pronounced himself God (even if he thought it). This leads me to conclusion #2...
2) I am going to focus my enthusiasm on Georgia Southern - Ranked #5 in I-AA ball, the Eagles are poised for another run to the finish line. And, thus far, nobody has gone insane, which I now consider a good omen. The bruising Eagle option attack is always fun to watch, and I can get better seats than at Doak Campbell. In any event, you gotta have somethin' to believe in. And this year, it's Georgia Southern.

Dude... you can't get too upset that your quarterback caught retard... I mean... lyme disease. Anyway, this is just an attempt to stave off the abuse you'll receive when Florida stomps on you for the second year in a row (I know I'm setting myself up here). Anyway, at least Georgia Southern is football I can get behind.

War Eagles... I'm out!

Seriously, the best home games will be McNeese State, The Citadel, and Furman. Think about it!
