I'm not going back to Louisiana ever

I'm probably exaggerating, but this infuriates me. I heard the story on This American Life ("After the Flood") this morning and they did extensive interviews with people from the refugee group. They ended up having to break into a gas station and hide on the floor beneath the windows because they heard gunfire and gangs moving about at night. They were camped on the bridge where they felt safe but the police came and rousted them out. Where were these people supposed to go? Later they camped somewhere else and a police helicopter came down and used its downdraft to blow away their stuff. Absolutely shameful.

Update [10:49pm]: More police goodness here.
